How to buy
Buying access to MiniTreasure is easy. Simply follow the ‘Buy Now’ button link to get started.
Earliest start option
During the checkout process, you can add an option to set the earliest start time on a specified day and have a welcome message tailored to your group. This service costs $150, is available for any size group and is recommended for group sizes of 40 people or more. Simply email us with your start time and any suggestions you have for your welcome message and we’ll add those to your event.
Facilitation option
The activity is automated & does not need us to facilitate it. However, subject to availability, we can facilitate it if you prefer. This service costs $350 and is subject to availability. Please contact us prior to purchasing this.
Pay after option
As standard, you can purchase your players in advance. If someone does not attend the event, that “player” remains available to you for subsequent events. Forever.
However, if your group is large enough, you can choose to pay after the event and only for those who login. This option costs $150, so becomes worthwhile if more than 5 people are no-shows.
If you choose this option, payment is due immediately after the event is complete. If you are paying by credit card, we will send you a link to pay this online.

MiniTreasure FAQs
What is MiniTreasure?
It’s an online team building activity for virtual, remote and hybrid teams. And it can be run for co-located teams too!
It all happens on a web page that every participant goes to. On that page is a large image scene that each participant can pan around and zoom into and out of at will. We have a choice of different scenes for you to choose from.
Usually, people are organized into teams and each team is trying to do as well as it can with 60 clues of 3 types:
- Straightforward – easy to understand, but not necessarily easy to answer!
- Rhyming – more cryptic and a bit more fun!
- Image – visually oriented clues to track down within the full scene.
Together, they need great teamwork to tackle – all while everyone has a great time!
How long does a MiniTreasure event run for?
It’s entirely up to you. Most clients run it for between 30 minutes and 1 and a quarter hours. The most typical run time is 45 minutes. But, like we say, it’s your choice.
How many people can participate?
As many – or few – as you like!
We’ve had many teams of only 3 people and quite a few of several thousand. There’s no such thing as a typical MiniTreasure group size!
However large or small your group is, MiniTreasure will cope for sure!
How many people are in a team?
Your choice.
Most clients run with between 3 and 5 people in a team. But if you want fewer or more in a team, that’s ok too.
Can it be tailored for us?
It can indeed. Typically the extra cost of this makes this financially justifiable for group sizes of 50 or more people, but any group size can run within a tailored scene!
Tailoring can include:
- Changes to an existing image.
- Creating a brand new scene just for you.
- … and the treasure hunt clues will be altered or created to include some or all of your tailored elements for all of the above.
Is there anything to download and install?
No.
Your participants will need access to the Internet and a modern browser (read “anything but Internet Explorer”). That’s all.
What devices can people use?
MiniTreasure is designed for a laptop or desktop. Smaller devices do not have the screen real estate to offer a great experience.
Windows, MacOS and Linux devices are all perfectly suitable.
Do all teams have to run at the same time?
No. Different teams can run at different times and still they are all part of the same event. You can spread your event over hours, days, weeks or even months. This allows your teams to run at times that are suitable for them.
There is a leaderboard, available to all throughout, that encourages a healthy spirit of competition between the teams. But later starting teams do not get to see the already finished team scores until they themselves have finished. So there’s no advantage for later starting teams.
We have people in China. Is that an issue?
Most people based in China can access our sites without a problem. That said, some Chinese ISPs do block dynamic updates from Western sites. China-based participants to date have never had any problems if using their corporate VPN to access our services.
We have a test page that people can use to ensure they can receive our dynamic updates.
Some of our people have unreliable Internet connections. How big a problem is this?
Well, we need them to have some Internet access for sure.
Part of our recommended process is for all participants to check their browser and connection is suitable via a check page. This page preloads all the elements, making the start quick and smooth for everyone.
Once they are underway, the bandwidth requirement is minimal. It even handles temporary loss of connectivity – probably without the person realizing they have lost connection!
